Interesting Story

So, some of my friends from the football team and myself were standing by some doors at the south end of Campbell Collegiate, the ones inbetween the 2 gyms, and we were waiting for one of our coaches to show up to let us in to use the weight room (and get big and buff). After waiting a while (20 minutes) a car pulls up and a girl, about my age, gets out and says something to us, but fairly quiet and we couldn't hear her. Then we look at eachother and no one knows what she said. Then the driver of the car who was probably the girls mother said, 'did you hear what she said?' and we were like 'no.' The we moved closer and the girl said kind of shyly, 'Jesus has come to take away the sins of the world.' Then the mom took over and talked for a while and asked if we knew Jesus. I told her,'Yeah!' And threw some Matthew at her, 'Repent for the Kingdom of heaven is near,' because that verse was kind of what she was talking about. After they left my friends and I ended up talking about what they had said.

I thought it was kind of strange how the girl was so shy and seemed kind of uncertain, and then I realized that I was like her shy when I should be certain, I can't be shy when talking about Jesus, I need to be on fire for Jesus. I was glad that I was able to remember some verses that I learned from bible quizzing when talking! This experience shows me that us as Christians have to not worry, "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself...." -Matthew 6:34a(NIV) We don't need to worry if people will hate us for being Christians, God will help!

That's a really cool story. Yeah, I can also relate; sometimes I also get shy when I should be more certain that God will take control of each and every single situation. Thanks for the post, Bobby. It encouraged me. Let's continue to be salt and light, not only when encouraged by Youth Group friends who surround us, but all the time.

good story bobby. that is really cool that it happened to you too. it seems like a strange thing to do with your mom some afternoon, but really interesting. we just need to realize that we don't really have much to lose, and what we do belongs to Jesus. He gives and takes away.

After those people left one of my friends was talking to me about, 'what if God brought us here for us to talk to those people?' (Mainly because we never got into the Gym because the teacher never showed up)
