Prayer Power!

Just a note to everyone who reads this before Friday lunch:

Please pray LIKE CRAZY for good weather at lunch tomorrow. Sheldon and Campbellā€™s ISCF groups are getting together in the park by the church, and it is suppose to be cloudy and rainy.
Please pray that God will give us an hour of sunlight to have an awesome time of fellowship with other Christians.
IF YOU GO TO CAMPBELL OR SHELDON - MAKE SURE YOU ARE THERE, AND TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO COME.

Hey is there any of you that can write lyrics to music well? Or know of anyone that can, I'm writing a song and I have the music down I just need the lyrics and I want them to be meaningfull about Christ so yeah, and I'm hoping to play it for my grad in 3 weeks so all y'all get back to me...thanks

Well, I'm not very good at writing lyrics - so good luck!

All I can say is that the best songs that I have written I've had at least most of the lyrics finished in the first couple days. Some songs that took longer than that. Some have taken months to get the right lyrics down (a couple songs I wrote over a year ago, I still don't have lyrics for!). Procrastination is a bad thing.
I usually have some idea of what the song I'm writing is going to be about, but I can never decide how I'm going to go about the words(I guess I might be a little picky, but good lyrics are worth it.)
Another thing that can be very helpful is outside advice (from other people). Many times other people have completely different ideas on where to go with a song, and contrast can definitely be the thing that makes a song.

I guess I don't really know who you are, but I would be really interested in hearing what you have. You should play it for me sometime - or even better, record it, then I can listen to it more than once. Also, you should really play it for Bernard - he could help you a lot more than I can!

Thanks for the advice Jon, yeah the first person I planned on talking to was Bernard, but I forgot to Friday so I shall try on Sunday, yeah I recorded the song on a cassette so my friend who will be singing it while I play the piano could take it home but the tone was all messed up and it wavers so the sound is screwed up. Back to recording then.... but yeah the advice is good good! Oh yeah the Picnic @ Candy Cane Park was a blast!!!

3:56 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

LOL...speaking of that picnic...I advize all y'all to think before you throw water ballons at Allan cuz he'll hunt you down if you do...hahaha, nailed him in the head and soaked his sweater...muhahahha! Awesome time, loved it!

hahaha man 36 posts! that is crazy. How about time for a new question

What skills would you like to learn sometime in your life?

for me it would probably be using a lasso, beatboxing, freestyle rapping, breakdancing, and flying planes.

5:45 PM
Blogger Sharilyn said...

Sounds like you will be having the good times, David! I don't exactly know what skills I want to learn sometime in life . . . but I'm sure I'll figure them out, as I keep going!
My uncle flew planes! But then he had problems with his ear, so now he's a missionary in Africa! Pretty cool, eh? I think he's such a great guy, who inspires me to live my all for God every single day! I think that's one skill I would like to learn . . . not only being on fire for God, but also helping others come to know Him! I think that's the only skill I really need . . . even though some others (beatboxing, freestyle rapping, etc.) seem pretty cool, too! Well, see all y'alls later, now! Adios, mes amis!

Anonymous Anonymous said...

I wish I could break dance and play the electric guitar...yeah that'd be cool and the bass too! You guys and the youth leaders have inspired me!

7:04 PM

ya, so i'd like to learn how to break dance, play the gutiar, play bass gutiar, write songs well, tell others about my faith in Christ and be really on fire for God.

9:09 PM
Blogger davidh said...

Oh sweet Jordan, yeah I have a lasso too, haha you may remember it. But yeah I am not good at using it yet. Also I never practise, and it is kind of stiff instead of really flexible like some of them. That's a lot of cool stuff guys. I am really amazed by the number of comments. I guess it's time for another question

What are you looking forward to this summer, and for the rest of your life? Like what will be your favourite things that will happen this summer?

5:01 PM
Blogger Kiersten said...

I would go to Australia as well. or New Zealand - whichever came first. but I don't know who i would take - probably as many people as possible. I would go to the opera house and go shopping and snorkeling and boating and shopping and bus to melbourne from sydney and then back again and go shopping. then fly home. possibly, or i may just set up camp there for good. you know how we do.

Wouldn't YOU like to know!? I think I can tell you a bit about myself! Hi! My name's Sharilyn! I have a cat called Cujo, and now that my sister moved back into my house, I now have two more cats roaming around my house! Their names are Cujo (we've got 2 Cujo's, now) and Raiju (I don't know how to spell Raiju's name, though)! Actually, they're both kind of like me . . . pretty much shy! Right now, they're actually hiding! I guess I usually don't hide too often, though! Oh, you mean you want to know about who Anonymous is? Oh, sorry, I guess I wasted your time telling you who I am! Or maybe you found that story just so fascinating, that you want to hear it again! Anyways, my eyes are getting tired of reading what I type . . . and so am I! See ya later!

Know what would be crazy and pretty intense? If a blog decided to just have one post, and then they comment to that one post at least 1000 times! Can you imagine how it would be to always go back to it and scroll the thing down for so long? And it would be insane if a new member were to join, and then they have so much to read for a very very long time, if they really wanted to! I don't know why that thought just came to me! Oh yeah I'm excited to get my license but unfortunately they're making that crappy 3 year rule oh joy... yeah as long as I don't forget which pedal is for gas and which is for the brake...lol

7:36 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yeah! That's some good advice, Anonymous! I think it would be smart to remember which pedal is which!
Ps. lol? I think that implies something! Hmmm . . . note to self: Be careful of Anonymous persons in go-karts!

9:12 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Oh don't worry...the owner only told me to move forward and I stepped on the gas pedal a bit too hard and he was yelling "stop stop stop ahhh" and jumped out of the way...I tried to stop but I went screeching forward...hahaha it was funny, but it's all good I won't do that when I drive though...maybe... :D

Good story! The biggest adventure I had with a go-kart's pedals is that one time I didn't quite make it up the hill, and I actually pressed on the gas pedal pretty hard, instead of the brake! Fun times of revving the engine . . . and then sliding backwards was great fun, too! Oh, go-karts! How very much fun they are! Good thing I seem to be a bit better at driving . . .

Can't say I really remember! But r U a fellow music-lover?

2:53 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

definitely! There's three things I love in life..1. God
2. Youth Group/Church
3. Music...playing and listening...it's kerrrayzeee!

4:53 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

I love the way u r just so loving! . . .And I love those other things you mentioned too, by zee way! I don't know how I could live without God, and the fellowship we've got at Church and Youth Group is simply amazing . . . As for the music, I enjoy it, as well . . even though I'm pretty sure I could manage to live without it!

That's true but being able to use the gifts God gave you like playing music for Him makes it even better. That's what I love is using my gifts to praise and worship God rather than self-pleasure.

Do you like animals like lions???

6:22 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

I like animals, in general! Lions are cool! Here's hoping I don't meet one super-close-up, though!

6:35 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Oh yeah, and I totally agree with you on the using musical gifts to glorify God, by the way! I was just thinking about music in general, not particularly about anything other than listening to random stations on the radio! In a way, quite a bit can be used for God's glory, too . . . like making a particular movie! Obviously that takes talent, but it can still be used to bring people closer to God! An example is Passion of the Christ! Just thought I'd comment on that, because you made an excellent point!

That's very true... but I'm still trying to figure out who you are... Heather? .... a very stealthy Sharilyn? ... Melinda? Have you graduated from gr. 12 yet... ?

muahahaha! u have no clue how much fun I'm having with this thing! Let's see how long I can go before you figure out who I am! Haha! Right now, I'm wondering what you'd do if I left this post and never came back . . . EVER! THEN how would you know who I am, hmm?

7:04 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Well you should either be Melinda, Sharilyn, Heather or Caroline cuz those were the only girls at Caroline's and that have their learners like you said but Melinda already has her license...so maybe scratch her off the list and Sharilyn and Caroline usually post using their own names... so are you Heather??? hmmm... lol unless you're a crafty Jessica, or Anna, Jennifer or Andrea...hmm...you're not one of the Winters Girls are you?

Oh, no, I'm not offended! I just find this whole thing so amusing . . . and I always use exclamation marks! Anyways . . . I should probably stop soon . . . I've been sitting here for long enough, I think!

7:28 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

u don't give up easily, do you? Yes, my birthday was fairly recent . . . this year . . . or was it last year? But do I mean the actual year like 2005, or the SCHOOL year? Ha; if I'M getting confuzzled, my thoughts are u're about doubly confuzzled, because u're clearly at least doubly cooler than I am! O ya, u heard right . . . or read right . . . u know, YOU'RE right! Don't know what you're right about, yet . . . but I'll figure it out soon enough, OK!? OK, I'm out!

OK, so how do we continue commenting now? Hmmm...
Let's say make up random
stuff! I found a hilarious
website all based on clean
jokes! Here's one of them, which I found was pretty good...

A magician was working on a cruise ship in the Caribbean. The audience would be different each week, so the magician allowed himself to do the same tricks over and over again. There was only one problem: The captain's parrot saw the shows each week and began to understand how the magician did every trick. Once he understood he started shouting in the middle of the show: "Look, it's not the same hat." "Look, he is hiding the flowers under the table." "Hey, why are all the cards the Ace of Spades?" The magician was furious but couldn't do anything; it was, after all, the captain's parrot.
One day the ship had an accident and sank. The magician found himself floating on a piece of wood in the middle of the ocean with the parrot, of course.
They stared at each other with hate, but did not utter a word. This went on for a day and another and another. After a week the parrot said: "OK, I give up. Where's the boat?"

I thought that joke was a gooder!

Here's are a few more that I found were pretty cute!

A group of young children were sitting in a circle with their teacher. She was going around in turn asking them all questions.
"Davy, what noise does a cow make?"
"It goes moo."
"Alice, what noise does a cat make?"
"It goes meow."
"Jamie, what sound does a lamb make?"
"It goes baaa."
"Jennifer, what sound does a mouse make?"
"Err.., it goes.. click!"

A young and foolish pilot wanted to sound cool on the aviation frequencies. So, this was his first time approaching a field at night. Instead of making any official requests to the tower, he said: "Guess who?" The controller switched the field lights off and replied: "Guess where?"

My six-year-old grandson called his mother from his friend Charlie's house and confessed he had broken a lamp when he threw a football in their living room.
"But, Mom," he said,
brightening, "you don't have to worry about buying another one. Charlie's mother said it was irreplaceable."

Awesome! So enough of jokes! What can we comment about next? Hmmm . . . So between the comments both on this post as well as the post titled "bad picture, awsome pose!", there are now (Hm, 124 + 223=?) 357 comments?

4:18 PM

Alley-oop! 347 comments?

Anonymous Anonymous said...

WOW!!!! GO US! Right on...that's kerrrayzeee awesome. So what should be the next comment...hmmm do you ever sing in front of the mirror? and what are your fave bands?

7:48 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Wootwoot! And to answer your question, no, I don't sing in front of the mirror! But I DO sing quite a bit when I'm alone! That's fun times! . . . Or when I think I'm alone, at least! We're never really alone when God is always by our sides! Isn't that so cool to know? I fiercely think so!

Heehee! Yeah Melinda, I had a ton of fun being Anonymous! I definitely wanted to see how long I could go with being Anonymous, even when answering all the questions and giving all the hints! Actually, I kinda wanted someone to figure it out...because it just makes things all the more interesting; most people wouldn't think it was I! I think it's kinda funny how I lasted so long, though! Oh, fun times, fun times!
