How to BeatBox

I'll keep this one simple...

1-Find a drum loop (A simple kick, snare and hats one is good to start on)
2-Write it down
3-If there's a snare, cancel everything else that is at the same time (snares are louder and sharper and vut everything else out)
4-Repeat this again, with the kick drum (Not on the snare beats! You should have cancelled any kicks that happen at the same time as a snare beat)
5-Translate the drum loop into phonetics - B/D/G for Kick, Ch/T/C/K for Snare, S for Hats etc
6-Translate the phonetics into a sentence if you can, this makes it a little easier (ie B S K S or D S Ch S can become Bass-a Kiss-a or Do sir, Chair sir...)
7-Say the sentence you now have short, sharp and quick with a lot of air. This'll prolly cut it back to phonetics again, but this is good.
8-Cover your mouth like a pro and give it a go (Try that sentence out...any sentence with a lot of sharp sounds is good)
9-Practice...

If you can't be bothered, here's a good sentence I learnt at a workshop with the best vocal percussionist I've seen, Mal Webb. This was a nice easy one that sounds really good.
'Don't say guitar, don't suck a dung car'
Say it three times with a sharp intake of breath through your teeth at the end (this'll stop you from fainting, while getting a good open highhat sound as well). Then say this-
'Don't say guitar, don't suck a dung kakadu'

Hahahaha you learn something new everyday!

OK, I'll try. Um...no. I'll figure it out, first. Gotta go! Later!
