Prayer Power !!!!!!
A while back Josh wrote me a letter with the title "Greetings from the front lines". Up untill a while back I was kinda dissapointed that I wasn't on the "front lines" - but I'm very wrong. There is a whole lot of work here that needs doing - and somebodies got to do it.
Yes, make no mistake PRBI is a good school. However it does have problems. Most people here probably don't think there problems, or they don't notice them, or they don't care, or they're worried about change.
I have been doing a lot of praying - for change. I feel kinda foolish thinking I can change a school all by myself - but if it's God changing a school than that's another thing. I asked God to change this school - and I now believe that he will.
This year, our stutdent Pres. had the goal of wanting to pop the PRBI BUBBLE. This "Bubble" is something that a lot of people have been complaining about - about how there's hardly anything "the school" does to reach the outside community.
So far not much has happened.
I have been praying that God will show me his will for me.
And he has shown me my first ministry option.
I NEED PRAYER!!!!
FOR THE FOLLOWING:
-The highschool here in SEXSMITH has a cult group trying to get started in it. I believe this is going to be like an ISCF group.
-The highschool (I have heard) has a Christian group
-pray for them, and for me:I would really like to find out about this group, and get involved to help them out.
-This town and highschool (I have heard) has a lot of Satanists. Pray that darkness will not prevail
IF you know me, than you know that I am an idea person. I have soooooo many ideas for our school and reaching the community.
- I am very lucky to have "connections" in this school. I have very good relationships with both the student body pres. and the Collage President (who use to pastor Hillsdale.
-Please pray that I can help them "pop the bubble" of PRBI, and get people motivated to actually CHANGE> or do whatever God wants this school to do.
WE HAVE SOOO MUCH POTENTIAL HERE!!!!!
unfortunaly, most people here seem to be "normal" CHristians. This "normal" that I'm talking about is not the biblical normal, but for the most part is SELF ORIENTED.
ME and a couple other guys here started a prayer group. We meet Mondays at lunch. We go on prayer walks, or just find somewhere to pray.
We put this is in the anouncements every Monday. You know what is SAD???
We are getting no more people showing up than any secular highschool does. On average we get about 6-8 people.
PLEASE PRAY ----- THAT WE WOULD PRAY.
Its kind of sad that I would have to ask you guys to do this, but this is exactly the thing that I want to see change.

Jonathan, I'll be praying for you and for Sexsmith ... oh man, you definitely have some "front lines" of your own that you are being faced with. I know a lot of people are praying for you. God has something big planned for you while you're there, just keep looking!!! :)

Hey sorry about that Jon. I wasn't really thinking when I put "Greetings from the front lines!" In reality we are all on the front line. I have been praying for you and will be praying for you, up there in Sexsmith. We'll keep you in our prayers at prayer meeting and in care groups too. And remember, homework before ministry :). man I'm constantly excited by your passion. I feel a lot of what you are saying here too. Pambrum has like 110 people. Millar is definitely a bubble, I do get to help out with quizzing a lot in swift current and go on three weekend ministry trips this year. But for an entire year that is very very little contact with non-christians.
We had a day of prayer a little while back and that was just amazing. The entire day was devoted to prayer of different kinds. My whole attitude changed and I got a fire in my heart and that next day when I got to lead the bible discussion at quizzing the words just flowed like never before. GOd is so good, and prayer is so powerful. He just longs to have us bring all of our requests to him.
Yeah and with what you said Josh I think that if we are in God's will doing his work then he will always provide us with enough time to finish homework. But yeah it was great to see you in regina, too bad we didn't get a chance to talk. Every time i think of you I just get motivated to evangelize haha it's great.

go down the page and click beside Catherine booth the aggresive christianity article. she really talks about how ridiculous the modern view of evangelism is compared to what Jesus actually said. Very intense. But yeah this is just a random splurb of my thoughts. Thanks for your post Jonathon it's really encouraging. And please pray for Millar too I know that God can change it and produce a passion in all of our hearts for him that will never die and never give up. I'll be praying for ya!
