Meow!

oops I posted to the wrong blog again. Haha umm here is a really good site

http://www.tentmaker.org/newinspiration/index.html

and here's a joke I heard today on the internet
A man takes his Rottweiler to the vet.

"My dog's cross-eyed, is there anything you can do for him?"
"Well," says the vet, "let's have a look at him"

So he picks the dog up and examines his eyes, then checks his teeth.

Finally, he says, "I'm going to have to put him down."
"What? Because he's cross-eyed? "
"No, because he's really heavy"
Hahahaha and then I forgot about this joke, oh dear...
A woman was shopping at her local supermarket where she selected; a litre of milk, a carton of eggs, a litre of orange juice, a head of lettuce, a 5 kilo can of coffee, and a 1 kilo pack of bacon.

As she was unloading her items on the conveyor belt to checkout, a drunk standing behind her watched as she placed the items in front of the cashier. "You must be single" he said.

The woman, a bit startled but intrigued by the derelict's intuition, looked at her six items on the belt. Seeing nothing particularly unusual about her selections she said, "Well, you know what, you're absolutely correct. But how on earth did you know that?"

The drunk replied, "'cause you're ugly"

Seriosity

A ten-year-old boy was failing math. His parents tried everything from tutors to hypnosis; but to no avail. Finally, at the insistence of a family friend, they decided to enroll their son in a private Catholic school. After the first day, the boy's parents were surprised when he walked in after school with a stern, focused and very determined expression on his face.

He went straight past them, right to his room and quietly closed the door. For nearly two hours he toiled away in his room with math books strewn about his desk and the surrounding floor. He emerged long enough to eat, and after quickly cleaning his plate, went straight back to his room, closed the door and worked feverishly at his studies until bedtime.

This pattern of behavior continued until it was time for the first quarter's report card. The boy walked in with it unopened, laid it on the dinner table and went straight to his room.
Cautiously, his mother opened it and, to her amazement, she saw a large red 'A' under the subject of Math. Overjoyed, she and her husband rushed into their son's room, thrilled at His remarkable progress.

"Was it the nuns that did it?" the father asked. The boy shook his head and said "No."

"Was it the one-to-one tutoring? The peer-mentoring?" "No."

"The textbooks? The teachers? The curriculum?"

"No", said the son. "On that first day, when I walked in the front door and saw that guy nailed to the plus sign, I KNEW they were serious!

Some Slightly Good News

So, I have some good news. Some of you may have heard, but I figure I'd give everyone the heads up. I bought a car last Saturday! (not this Saturday---I was at Staff Training---and I'm not that good at multi-tasking). I keep forgetting I bought a car. Weird feeling. Anyway, it's an '82 Honda Civic four-door hatchback, in mint condition (as in rusting to death/"interesting" paint job/needs work before it will go over 80 kph without being dangerous.) The best part is it was only $50, so I'll have some money left over to fix it! My dad and I will have a grand adventure I'm sure as we try to fix it this winter. It's standard, so I had tons of fun killing the clutch and grinding gears and all that on Sat/Sunday. It's not licensed anymore, so I won't drive it until after Christmas, I'm thinking. But nonetheless, I'm excited! "Rusty" and I will have many fun times together, and I know this, because any car with as much character as Rusty will definitely break down a time or two. Hope you guys are having fun wherever you may be, and good luck in your endeavors! (Big word of the day)

Stress...

So I basically have this project based on stress due for tomorrow! Don't fret though, I'm almost done! I finished the essay, and now I have to figure out my presentation! But I was looking for stress tests on the internet, and I found a really good site that I liked . . . unfortunately, it wasn't quite what I was looking for, but after reading it, I thought it made a few good points! Check it out, if you'd like!
http://www.lifeway.com/lwc/article_main_page/0,1703,A%253D152385%2526M%253D50019,00.html
Should probably finish up my work! See you later . . . or tomorrow . . . or Friday!
P.S. I'm hoping the site address works . . . because I definitely wasted some more time (posting), if it didn't . . . and that wouldn't make me too extremely happy! Oh, well! I thought it was a good reading, anyway!

Title unknown

Hey, Dallas' parting shot (Why is it that one careless match can atart a forest fire, but it takes a whole box to light a campfire?) reminds me of all the campfires that we tryed to start. Ha! Ha! Ha!...Oh the memories!!!

Fun times?

Hey, how was everybody's long weekend? Mine was pretty good! But one thing I often got to thinking was this . . . How come I so often seem to have so much fun with my friends, that I almost forget about God and his holiness? Why do I almost brush him aside for a good time with people down here on Earth? Is it possible I'm really not as good of friends with God as I want to be? Why do I not really want to spend as much time with him as the people he put in my life? Or am I, through being with my friends, becoming stronger in my faith, and learning more about how to live my life? Seems like I've got a ton of questions, but I think it's all based around the same idea . . . Am I really the best of friends with God? I don't know if you guys ever struggle with this issue, but I would greatly appreciate some feedback of what you guys think! Are we really living our all for God, and not for ourselves?

So what are we doing on Monday?? We should do stuff all day!! Memories, we need morememories!!!! Luv ya all!!!

Movies

Hey, Well I think that we really need to think about going to the drive-in tonight. We were talking about how we should cut back on watching movies. Well I don't think that going to the drive-in is such a good idea. We should make a movie or something instead. We could go to the park or my house and make a movie. I just think that it's important that we stand to our word and what we said instead of just following the crowd. Well if you are all going to the drive-in anyway I don't think that I'll come. It's not worth it!!!! Well, what do you think???? Think about what we all said regarding David's blog about "holiness" Guys, I think we can do without movies!!!!!!

Saturday, May 21, 2005

Fun times . . . but minus the fun! So how are your weekends going, so far? Hopefully you are having a bit more fun than I'm getting to have, right now! Well, because my life is so exciting, I have nothing to type! So I guess I'm off! See you tomorrow, everybody!
Hey, you know what we havn't done in a long time.....go bowling! Since it's raining and all and we can't really do anything outside. I say that we should go bowling this afternoon!!!!

Once there was a pink unicorn with 3,000 wishes. He wished that he had eaten a Kara for Brunch, But he died!!!! Standing on grass that was flaming...under Aimee who also a mongoose. And then a fish ate them.
The beginning once ended while flames burst everywhere.

The end
Period . (emphasis added)

idiot

So today some jerk face decided to break my car window.

They looked through all of my stuff (which consisted of a tape adaptor, and a cd) and didn't steal anything.

I think they are the worst robbers ever. They should make sure there is something to steal before they go breaking windows.

I'm frustrated at the human species.

Oops

So that post that was here before was an accident I just got back from frisbee and was read an interesting article that I wanted to read again so i thought I would post it on my own blog. But Since I was tired and I guess confused from frisbee I put it here. Haha so that is why it is deleted, I'm weird. But yeah thanks for the comment Sharilyn.

Also one thing I was wondering is is there still a prayer meeting before Care group? because now that quizzing is over it would be neat to go to that. And I guess I will add a joke or two.

A young man visited his uncle on the farm. Everwhere they went, they were followed by a large pig. On the third day the young finally man asked his uncle, "Why does this pig follow you everywhere you go?"

His uncle explained that the pig was his best friend and had actually pulled down a small tree, held in in his teeth and extended it out to me in the pond when I had fallen from the tractor.

"He saved my life," said the farmer.

"Well, tell me this!" exclaimed the lad.

"Yes?" replied the farmer.

"How come he's only got three legs?"

The farmer replied, "Could you eat a pig that good ALL AT ONCE?"

What did the inflatable teacher say to the inflateable pupuil who came into the inflateable school one day and wreaked havoc?
You've let me down, you've let the school down, but most of all, you've let yourself down.

Q. Why don't cannibals eat clowns?
A. Because they taste funny.

Q. What washes up onto small beaches?
A. Microwaves

May Long

Alrighty, I just wanted to know if people wanted to get together to do something and what ideas were about what that something could be. Basically I don't want to be creative and think of things to do but I want to do something because it'll be very boring if I don't. So don't let me get bored. Bad things happen when I get bored. Examples, Random Snow Angels, Baking Cakes, Following David Hepting around after the youth event with Alayna and other such nonsense. Moral of this blogger thingy, DON'T LET ME GET BORED, OR ELSE. Well that's basically all Toodles.

A Small Adventure

So last night I was sent to go get milk at 9:30. I got to Wal Mart and, of course, locked my keys in the car. So I looked for a quarter to phone home, but all I had was a tooney. And I didn't want to waste a tooney on a pay phone. So I ran back home, and Mom drove me back to get the car. Of course by now, Wal Mart was closed (and I didn't buy my milk because who wants to run home with milk?). So I drove over to Shoppers (I got my milk). And I was backing out when someone taps on my window, so I look over and they're pointing at the roof. What do you know, I accidentally left the milk on the roof of the car. I definitely wouldn't have been a happy clam if I had arrived home without the milk. But all ended well, although it was 11:00 before I got to bed. So, the morale of the tale is: Don't buy milk after 9:30. And don't waste quarters on pay phones.

no title

you know what's extremely hilarious? aha. I'm sitting in CPT, and even though I have a huge assignment lingering over my head, i'm on the blog. . . and i feel great! oh baby - so this chair is really uncomfortable and there are teachers mulling around, and I feel super stealth. stealthy stealth stealth . Erin is insulting me, and i feel loved, extremely loved. she learned something new today, and so she's very ecstatic. ecstatic indeed. i love repeating words. words repeated. More emPHAsis, know what i mean? would you like to know what she learned? Vladimir Nabokov had synesthesia . . . so she's reveling in the fact that he had it, do you know what it is? it's the neurological mixing of the senses. so you see words as colours and stuff. it's pretty cool and we've agreed that we'd like to have that disorder. it'd be so cool, don't you think?!?!? hyper-bored - that's what i am . . . oh man, teacher alert . . . stealth is draining from my system.

over and out
Kiersten

My Conclusion

Ya, so I think that when ever we are watching movies that we should ask Jesus to be the lense in which we see things and for him to make it clear to us and show us if the movie is approprate or not. We also need to ask him to clear our conscience and keep it clear so that it will be easier for us to decipher between right and wrong. You know, I know that this movie thing may be hard but, It's supposed to be hard, If it weren't hard, everyone would do it. The HARD part is what makes it great!

Old Folks

I found an e-mail the other day, and on it were senior's personal ads, found in Florida and Arizona. I decided to share them with you guys!

Foxy Lady
Fashion conscious bullheaded beauty, 80's, slim, 5' 4" (used to be 5' 6"), searching for sharp looking, sharp dressing companion. Matching white shoes and belt a plus.

Long-Term Commitment
Recent widow who has just buried fourth husband. Looking for someone to round out a six unit plot. Dizziness, fainting, shortness of breath not a problem.

Serenity Now
I am into solitude, long walks, sunrises, the ocean, yoga, and meditation. If you are the silent type, let's get together, taking our hearing aids out and enjoy the quiet times.

Winning Smile
Active grandmother with original teeth seeking a dedicated flosser to share rare steaks, corn on the cob, and caramel candy.

Beatles or Stones?
I still like to rock, still like to cruise in my Camaro on Saturday nights and still like to play the guitar. If you were a groovy chick, or are now a groovy hen, let's get together and listen to my eight track tapes.

Mint Condition
Male, 1922, high mileage, good condition, some hair, many new parts including hip, knee, cornea. Isn't in running condition, but walks well.

Memories
I can usually remember Monday through Thursday. If you can remember Friday, Saturday and Sunday, let's put our two heads together.

Someday when I'm old and don't work as well as I use to, hopefully I can at least have a sense of humour!

response to "Holiness"

Okay so I commented this in David's post, but just in case you guys don't read it:

NO movies are perfect. so my suggestion? instead of WATCHING movies after youth, we MAKE movies!!!Like write our own scripts, and then after a while we'll just watch those movies. No, for real. This would be AWESOME.

Who would be up for this? Like we could just film a few scenes a night, wear ridiculous costumes, have intense plot lines... ... ... ... Yeah. I'm pretty sure we'd be the coolest person alive.

I would be up for managing this, like figuring stuff out and what not. Does anyone have a camera??? (I do, but my dad's friend broke it about 10 years ago.)

Hahaha. The End.

CHEESE!

hey kiddos! um, i really don't have anything to say, but then again, do i ever have anything to say? you kno what Dr. Suess says, "one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish". what would we ever do without Dr. Suess' words of advice? we probabley would of never found the secret room under the youth room stairs, or would of been chompped up by alligator babys...or something along those lines.

kara faith.

Holiness

This is a topic that I have just been thinking about and dealing with myself lately. How far are we called to go to be holy? Last night Randy and Brayden and Lyndon, Jordan and I went to Randy's to watch Simpsons, Family Guy, and American Dad. It was really funny and good time spent with friends. But after I got to wondering, how can 5 christian friends come to the place where we laugh and enjoy sacrilege, and even laugh and enjoy the offensiveness of immorality. How far do we seperate ourselves? What can God redeem and what should we avoid? What should we let in and what should we keep out?

I found myself wondering why this semester I don't have many friends at school, just some really good ones. Usually there was a lot of people I could hang out with. But I guess I've started to walk away when conversations turn gross. Not laugh when i always used to. Be less enjoyable to be around because even when i try not to sometimes I grimace when people swear or make take my Lord's name in vain. Have I gone too far? When I look to Jesus people either loved him or hated him. Because he was willing to confront sin, but also accept the sinner and offer forgiveness. But to those who denied the gift of God and tried to get others to do the same he had nothing but harsh condemnation.

I know that too often we have sat by and let the world go to hell. I've watched some of my friends fall away from God and I was sad, or even prayed for them but have never been bold enough to confront it. In high school my dad dad took a guy in youth group aside who was falling away and talked to him about it and the guy was amazed that anybody cared enough to take a stand against what he was doing. He turned right around and is a good pastor today. When should we as christians confront sin and when should we let it continue?

Haha I know this blog has been kind of silly lately and I am sorry for changing the mood but this is something that has just been on my heart lately and I want to figure it out. Should we be asking ourselves, How holy can we be? or else how relevant can we get with the world? I'm just trying to figure this out right now for myself, I would love to hear what you guys think.

Where did everybody go?

Hey, guys! I was just noticing there have been less postings, and I don't know why! Maybe if you are anything like me, you're pretty busy! Yeah, so that's pretty much all I had to say . . . and that's because it's getting late, and apparently this is what happens when I can't think clearly! Well, either I can't think, or I get kind of hyper and can't stop thinking! Anyways . . . I'm headed for bed! See ya!

kazlam

So basically I haven't seen you people in forever because my job is the dumbest one I could ever think of. Yeah that's right. This week was scheduled for wednesday night, friday night, and saturday night. I'm pretty much wanting to die slash quit my job. But I need money for car driving purposes!

So yeah it's officially only one week until my birthday (thats on may 12, for all of you mathematic deficient people). So basically you should all spend your money on me. In fact, I'm a big fan of diamond rings, BMW's, and years supplies of orange juice boxes. Especially when used/worn/consumed simultaneously. I'm thinkin' since y'all are so swell, you could pull that off for me.

Rainbows and sparkles and polka dots and fake nails,

there were green alligators, and long necked geese...

so, obviously you guys are bad at estimating, because clearly, i have way less than a quarter of the posts. i have 7 out of like, 90...which doesn't equal a quarter. but o well, that's another tale to tell. by the way, if anyone leaves while we are singing the unicorn song, you shall be beaten three ways from sunday, and taken down to chinatown, or little italy, whichever has better discount travel rates.
so nobody has posted for awhile, meaning, bam, here's a post.
then i found a scarf.
the end.
p.s., if anyone doesn't know how to go back in time, and wants to know, "secret" meetings will be held starting last tuesday at 5:00 in the morning, in the crawlspace under the stairs...come early, because space is limited.
also, please pray for me, because i'm singing on the worship team this friday, and i'm REALLY nervous about it!

Story of A Lifetime - By Aimee and Kiersten

Once upon a time, the sun burnt out. Everyone was so frightened that they couldn't figure out what to do. But one little octopus kept his head on, he would fly up to the sun and relight it! So, he began by gathering as many fireflies as he could. Then, he scoured the beach, picking up every seashell that he could find. Finally, so that he could fly, he went out into a field and stole as many moo's as octopusly possible and started his journey. One by one, he let the moos go, and he floated higher and higher. Finally, when he was in outer space, he ran out of moos. He was too heavy to galaxy swim the rest of the way, so he started to drop the seashells, since he really didn't need them anyways and was just obsessed with collecting them. He floated closer and closer to the sun. He got really close, took out the fireflies to relight the sun and was just about to throw them on the burnt out ball of flame when all of a sudden, out of nowhere arrived the Evil Doctor Mongoose, Esquire, to foil the little octopus' plan. "I'm here to foil your plan, little octopus!" Said The Evil Doctor Mongoose, Esquire. And he gobbled all of the fireflies up! "OH NO!" said Octopus . . . "Whatever will I do?" But, the Evil Doctor Mongoose, Esquire, forgot one little thing, the fireflies LIT UP and his stomach began to glow. He was as bright as the sun, and so, he was dubbed the replacement sun. And the octopus found six dollars. FIN!

oh, what a badminton tournament can do to the creative juices!!

Picnic

Basically I think that picnic's are the best and that on some saturday we should walk, bike or rollerblad in the park and then have a picnic. You know because everybody likes picnics. Well at least I do because it involves food and being outside at the same time. Oh and I want to know what people are doing this summer just because I'm super curious and I want people to reply to my post. It's always the best when people do because then you feel special. Well I basically have a ton of homework to do so I'm going to go. Toodles
