It's been a slice!

Well,
I guess I better say good bye. Bye!

Oh and I also wanted to thank you for the best two years of youth that I have ever experienced in my life! You guys were so welcoming when Bradie, Chantelle & I first came to Hillsdale two years ago. I'd have to say that so far, these past two years have been the best two years of my life. I couldn't wait to go to youth every week and surprisingly, after seeing you all about three times a week, I never got sick of you...wierd! Well I can't wait to see what God has in store for you all this coming up year and I can't wait to hear what amazing things God will be doing through you guys. I'm really going to miss you all this comming up year. I'll be home at Christmas though so I can see you all again. Well, if I don't get a chance to say good bye to you before I leave...Bye and I love you all and God Bless you all!
love Aimee

Signing off

Hey, how's everyone doing? I was just thinking about how much of an encouragement you have all been to me, and I wanted to thank you for that. It's been really cool to see how the Youth Group has grown over the year, too. I've also been thinking a bit about leaving for school on the 4th of September. I am stoked for heading out, but I'll definitely be thinking of you guys as I'm at college.

This blog has been a ton o' fun and I've learned a lot through it. Because I'm heading out to college soon, I guess this is my way of signing off, seeing as though I'm no longer part of the Senior High Youth Group. I still find it kinda hard to believe I've graduated already.

Although I don't really have any words of wisdom, I found these really encouraging words framed in my bedroom as I was starting to pack. It was cool how God once again provided the encouragement I needed even when I was cleaning my room.

God has not promised
there will always be sunshine in our lives,

but He has promised that His light
will always be before us.

He has not promised we
will never feel lonely,

but He has promised that in Him
we will never be alone.

He has not promised that we will be
free from pain and sorrow,

but He has promised He will be our help,
our strength, our everlasting peace.

No matter what happens in our lives,
we can believe fully in His promise . . .

we can rest confidently in His love.

I hope your group continues to grow not only in numbers as you continue to seek after God and His everlasting love.

This is Sharilyn, signing off.

You guys should try and figure this out!

There is a man dead in a phone booth. The glass on the sides of the phone booth is broken. The phone is off the hook and hanging.

Ask yes/no questions to figure out how he died! (Tip: try to figure out where he came from, who he was talking to and what he has just done.)

It is a fun(ny) riddle!

One day God said,
"This is what I will do:
I'll give my children spiritual gifts,
(And of course this includes you!)
These gifts will come in all shapes and sizes,
They'll give the world some amazing surprises.

You can use them here or there,
You can use them anywhere.
You can use them in a church,
You can use them with a guy named Lurch.
So what gift did God give to you?
Don't know? Then I'll tell you what to do.

Go ask a preacher or any other trusted creature,
Ask them to help you find your fantastic feature.
What fantastic gift? Let me name a few,

Then you'll see firsthand what you can do.
Because when it comes to gifts, there is no doubt,
They'll give you lots to shout about!

Some of you can teach the Word,
With boldness and the power of powers.
People will come from miles around,
To hear you preach for hours.

Then there are folks who love to serve,
To help, to heal, to hope, and more.
They love to help those in need,
Lending a hand is what they live for.

Maybe you're the one with the gift of mercy,
You might even feel bad for a guy named Percy.
You feed the hungry and help those in need,
Widows and orphans, you assist them indeed!

But wait- there's more and more!
Spiritual gifts are knocking on your door.
Giving and sharing your faith in God,
There's more to life than i-tunes and i-pods!

The bottom line is to fire up your gift,
It's guaranteed to give the world a lift,
Your God given ability is just waiting to be found!

Don't delay, dawdle, or dilly dally around,
Your God given ablity is just waiting to be found!

(yeah i copied that from a weekly email i get)

The posting on this blog seem like it's lacking greatly. It seems to be all about anouncements and birthdays. I think we should post here as well and our own blogs.

something new...

So I had this REALLY wierd dream last night!

So I was WALKING along this road and all of the SuDdEn...these really colorful nuns jumped out in front of me and said "you must change the rings on your shower curtain, they are really old and need to be updated!" So they sent me on a mission!

So I just kept leeping along and there was this paintball on the ground SO I did what every 70 year old would do...I ate it!

Then I met two sumo wreslers!

So I saw this lodge, after I escaped the glares of the sumo wrestlers and i went into it and there saw this bird...

And the last thing I can reember is a green pool...

The end!

(Actually, there was no dream, just random pics from clydehurst, what an awesome week!)

Interesting Story

So, some of my friends from the football team and myself were standing by some doors at the south end of Campbell Collegiate, the ones inbetween the 2 gyms, and we were waiting for one of our coaches to show up to let us in to use the weight room (and get big and buff). After waiting a while (20 minutes) a car pulls up and a girl, about my age, gets out and says something to us, but fairly quiet and we couldn't hear her. Then we look at eachother and no one knows what she said. Then the driver of the car who was probably the girls mother said, 'did you hear what she said?' and we were like 'no.' The we moved closer and the girl said kind of shyly, 'Jesus has come to take away the sins of the world.' Then the mom took over and talked for a while and asked if we knew Jesus. I told her,'Yeah!' And threw some Matthew at her, 'Repent for the Kingdom of heaven is near,' because that verse was kind of what she was talking about. After they left my friends and I ended up talking about what they had said.

I thought it was kind of strange how the girl was so shy and seemed kind of uncertain, and then I realized that I was like her shy when I should be certain, I can't be shy when talking about Jesus, I need to be on fire for Jesus. I was glad that I was able to remember some verses that I learned from bible quizzing when talking! This experience shows me that us as Christians have to not worry, "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself...." -Matthew 6:34a(NIV) We don't need to worry if people will hate us for being Christians, God will help!
