Hope you had a Merry Christmas and you have a Happy New Year!!!

Hey everybody,

Just wanted to see how you all are doing. I am doing great! Whoa, one of our cats just jumped in the air and spun around a few times. Raiju's hilarious! Anyway, I wanted to say hi and I hope you guys have fun at the New Year's party. I'm not going to be there, as I will be at my Grandparents' house celebrating the New Year with my Aunt and Uncle and the rest of my family. So have fun for me, okay? I will also be having a good time, but I won't be with you guys to shout out "Happy New Year!" That is why I am doing this right now. Get it? (Got it.) Good. Haha, I saw that in a movie just a little while ago. I thought "The Court Jester" was kinda funny. Well, that's basically it. See you guys later!

Count Down

Hello

Yeah, this is my first post. And after a long awaited time of waiting i am finally able to leave posts.

Still going to miss you all a bunch though and I'll think of Hillsdale while I'm suntanning there. Once again Merry Christmas cause I won't be able to say it in person.

Understanding God Is Perfect

http://www.briomag.com/briomagazine/spiritualhealth/a0003815.html

The Bible’s teaching on perfection hasn’t always made sense to me. A verse that drove my perfectionism in the past was Matthew 5:48, “Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly father is perfect.” I’ve learned from my pastor that the word “perfect” comes from the word tellios, which means to fulfill a purpose.
I’ve realized that God doesn’t expect me to be flawless, spotless or sinless. He doesn’t disapprove of me if I’m not the prettiest girl in the room or if I don’t get the best grade in the class. He expects me to fulfill my purpose, to obey Him the best I know how (even when I don’t want to) and to do what He’s created me to do.
All this time I’ve tried to prove myself to God, my parents, friends and teachers. I’m still learning that my value in God’s eyes isn’t based on performance or outward appearance. I keep forgetting that I’m valuable as a human being, not as a human doing or having. Just being.
Jesus died to take away all of our sins, so we don’t need to nitpick every single flaw. It saddens God to see us criticize those He created in love. He says we’re His dearly beloved, created in His image. I’ve found much comfort in reading the words of Psalm 139, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made,” and letting them sink into my soul. God loves me unconditionally, but sometimes it’s still hard to realize this is true.
I must have been distracted in Sunday school when someone said, “Jesus loves you.” Somehow I distorted the message. God loves you only if you’re perfect and pretty, and God loves you only if everyone else loves you.
Now I’ve got it right. I believe that God sincerely desires each of us to realize that He loves us — imperfections and all. And I know I need to remind myself of this every day.

CHRISTMAS PARTY/FIESTAVAL/FEASTIVAL/CHANCE TO DRESS UP!

k, basically i've heard tell that some people have not gotten invites to the christmas party that is happening this saturday...well, some aren't supposed to get any though, so if you're one of those people *cough cough* BRADEN *cough* then stop reading right...now.
k, now that braden is gone, here's the details:
WHEN: saturday, as already explained...that's december 17th...at 4:00 pm.
WHERE: my house (163 mckee croissant, although the numbers may be covered by a wreath) it's a green house on the corner of chisholm st, and mckee with a white fence
WHO: YOU, obviously, are coming to MY house.
WHAT TO BRING: semi-formal attire, assorted goodies...and a smile from mcdonalds. you're not getting in without it. i'm serious. also, make sure to bring some games. and if nobody brings Catch Phrase, i'm kicking you all out of my house. there is a slight chance that we will go out in the snow afterwards, and if so, you might want to bring warm clothes. if plans change, they will be posted here.

if anyone has any questions (except braden, because i'm sure he read this whole thing because he is a nerd) then phone me (569-8482) (789-0335) or kiersten (586-9516), or just post a question on here...although there is no guarantee that it will be answered.

Hillsdale Hockey Hangout

So since I'm So good at alliteration I think that people should join me and a few others out in Pense tonight for the Hillsdale Hockey Hangout. That's loosely translated from the Hillsdale Hockey team having a game tonight. In fact, the game is at 10:00 PM in said Pense and I'm sure that afterwards there will not be a shortage of ideas on what to do for hanging out. Rides may be a problem but certainly not one that can't be overcome. Think about it! Then decide that you really can't miss a once in a lifetime opportunity like this to watch hockey and visit rural Saskatchewan at the same time.

For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate." Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

1 Corinthians 1: 18-25
