IT'S HOT!!!

Saturday, July 30, 2005

So yeah, hey everyone, hopefully you are all have really great summers. I started a new job yesterday. Housekeeping at the Days Inn. Very hard work. I didn't believe them when they told me that. I was all like- yup, I can clean bathrooms and vacuum and make beds- what else do you have to do? Well you wouldn't believe some of the crazy stuff. I thought that the girl who was training me was joking when she told me that I had to fold the first toilet paper sheet in the shape of a triangle!! Anyway, g2g, Allesha

Meditation for This Morning

Hey guys, I came across this really powerful "Meditation for this Morning" on one of my favorite sites. It really spoke to me so I thought I'd share it with you:

C. H. Spurgeon

"So foolish was I, and ignorant; I was as a beast before Thee." --Psalm 73:22

Remember this is the confession of the man after God's own heart; and in telling us his inner life, he writes, "So foolish was I, and ignorant." The word "foolish," here, means more than it signifies in ordinary language. David, in a former verse of the Psalm, writes, "I was envious at the foolish when I saw the prosperity of the wicked," which shows that the folly he intended had sin in it. He puts himself down as being thus "foolish," and adds a word which is to give intensity to it; "so foolish was I." How foolish he could not tell. It was a sinful folly, a folly which was not to be excused by frailty, but to be condemned because of its perverseness and wilful ignorance, for he had been envious of the present prosperity of the ungodly, forgetful of the dreadful end awaiting all such. And are we better than David that we should call ourselves wise! Do we profess that we have attained perfection, or to have been so chastened that the rod has taken all our wilfulness out of us? Ah, this were pride indeed! If David was foolish, how foolish should we be in our own esteem if we could but see ourselves! Look back, believer: think of your doubting God when He has been so faithful to you--think of your foolish outcry of "Not so, my Father," when He crossed His hands in affliction to give you the larger blessing; think of the many times when you have read His providences in the dark, misinterpreted His dispensations, and groaned out, "All these things are against me," when they are all working together for your good! Think how often you have chosen sin because of its pleasure, when indeed, that pleasure was a root of bitterness to you! Surely if we know our own heart we must plead guilty to the indictment of a sinful folly; and conscious of this "foolishness," we must make David's consequent resolve our own--"Thou shalt guide me with Thy counsel."

oops

Hey guys, some of you might have heard but I just broke my arm on Saturday while trying to do a backflip off of a horse. So I felt kind of like an idiot. Haha but now I can't go to camp this week nor the next week and maybe even for the next four weeks so that would be pretty rough. But yeah like Sarah said call me too if you guys are doing something
(that doesn't need two arms ;) ) Have a great summer!
Hey everybody, so today we had to get all this stuff signed for our passports. So my mom took us to the hospital for my dad to sign all the paper deally things and then to the church to get Bernard to sign all the stuff and then we were driving to the place where you register them or whatever and I saw Sharilyn's mom sitting waiting for the bus. Just thought you all might want to know.

Hopefully everyone is getting all ready for VBS!!! I still have to work on a costume. How bout everyone else?

How SEMP Pertains to Mustangs

Hey folks!

I really want to tell you about SEMP, but I can't right now because I'm really tired and need to sleep/pack/do stuff. I wish I could multi-task all that, but I can't really. So yeah, I'll be seeing you soon, I hopest I doest anywaysest. Because we're going to Cypress Hills again for our vacation/holiday tomorrow for a week. But yeah, I definitely need to contribute something soon to this blog. Okay, fine, one story. Once, when we were driving through Arizona, I saw this sign that read "Mustangs Xing" so I'm all excited, because I'm a horse nerd, and I tell Mom to take a picture of one for me, because it was dusk and hard to take out of tinted windows (I really don't like tinted windows, but that's another story.) So yeah, we passed a few, then she was like "Got it!" so I was all excited to see this picture of a mustang, so I look, and it was a cow. My mom mistook a cow for a Mustang. I was so devastated that I started laughing, because it was funny. Lots of you have heard that story before, but I really liked telling it again. And I never knew there were so many "Mustangs" in Saskatchewan.

But yeah, SEMP was indescribably refreshing and really a great experience, and it took me a lot deeper with God---not just a bunch of happy emotions, but a real sense of who God is. It was really neat, and I'm glad He made me come. I definitely recommend it to others, even if you don't feel strong enough in your faith to share it with others---God takes care of that part for you. So, that's a really brief summary, but I hope it gave you a little sense of what it was like!

me

Hey kids. So I pretty much have not posted on here/talked to any of you for the past ever. Whats with that. Honestly.

So I have mono. Yeah. Cool stuff. asldfkjalskdfj

Also, call me when stuff happens. I do realize that the past like.... 4 times you people have called I have been busy, but that does not mean that I don't want to hang out, it just means I'm busy. I miss you people.

Also, never EVER share slurpees. For real. That's how I got mono.

Honestly. I was being nice. Sharing a slurpee. He (a friend of mine named brennan) did not have to share anything back, but he shared his disease. alskdfjaslkdgjasgas

I kind of like doing that these days. asdfasadha

SUMMER STUFF

Hey everyone!
Me and Andrew just got back yesterday from our trip to the states/canada/states again. (we went to the states and then back into canada when we saw Niagra Falls and then back down south once we saw it.(which Andrew thinks only takes about a second to actually SEE, but it really took about two hours for pictures and walking)
Anyway, just wondering about everyone else's summer. It seems as though everyone is gone to SEMP and camp and wherever else in the world. (COMMENT ON THIS)
STORY: when my family was at my cousins house in Indiana, a few of us older cousins started to play hot potato- with our two year old cousin- Davey. It was really cute and he loved it.
Anyway, if anyone wants to hang out, give me a ring-a-ling on the teli.

Later, Allesha

oH-k

hockey game

hey dudes and dude-ettes!
so tonight everyone is invited to my house around 7:30 to use my pool, as today will be hot, and it's basically my last free day before SEMP (excitement to the max!). so it'll probably just be some swimming action, maybe a movie, depending on several factors, that will be kept secret until further notice. so yeah, 163 McKee at 7:30, be there or be square, and phone peeps to make sure they know, as i don't know if i'll be home much today, because i'm expecting to be abducted by aliens for the afternoon, or being attacked by gremlins...whoever visits first...

Ideas, anybody?

So Melinda and I are trying to set something up for a fun get-together thing tonight, but we're having a bit of trouble figuring out what to do. If anybody has any ideas, feel free to comment and/or call me. See ya later, then . . . I guess it's back to thinking about what to do. Hmmm . . .

Hey Guys

I just got back from two weeks at Dallas Valley, it's been really intense and a growing experience for me. Learning how to rely on him and just enjoy him too. But yeah, I was just wondering how your guys's summer's have been? in the comments just talk about any random experiences you have had. That would be cool because I haven't seen anyone from youth in too long. Also I'm praying for your guys at SEMP How has the preparation for that been going?

Birthday!

Uh, okay guys, this is a little late, but anyway, besides the fact that I'm using a lot of commas, I just wanted to send out this last invite, in case you don't check your email. So Cousin Heather has come back to haunt us---I mean visit us, and it's her birthday (the only one she has this year), so there's a birthday party at my house on Sunday at 4:00. It'll be pretty much a hang out time, you know, some food and the such. So if you're feeling somewhat bored, feel free to drop in. If you get this too late and you're mad, that's too bad. Go tell your dad, if you're rad. Have a good evening!
